A lot of people say this the first time they meet me:
"You have a really special aura, very calm, but also very strong."
Every time I hear this, I just smile. There's really nothing special about it; I'm just a kid who grew up in a temple, practiced vegetarianism, and chanted Buddha's name for many years, so I just have a bit of that temple vibe.
When I Was a Kid, I Was Different from Other Children
I heard from my master that when I first arrived at the temple, I was only about five or six years old, small and skinny, not very talkative, but my eyes were really bright.
Back then, our family was poor and there were lots of kids, so my parents really couldn't afford to raise me and sent me to a nearby temple. You could say it was fate—usually kids cry when they leave home, but I didn't. Once I entered the mountain gate and saw the Buddha statue in the main hall, I stopped crying and just stood there quietly, staring at it for a long time.
Master said this child has a good heart.
But actually, at that time, I was drawn to some other "things"—I could see things that others couldn't.
You might not believe it if I tell you, but I've been able to sense the existence of another dimension since I was a kid. Sometimes it's a beam of light, sometimes a blurry shadow, and sometimes... it's some "old friends" who haven't left yet.
At first, I was scared too, but later my master told me that this wasn't anything strange, just that I was a bit more sensitive than others. He taught me how to chant, how to meditate, and how to face all this with a calm mind.
Slowly, I'm not afraid anymore.
Later on, I realized that I could not only "see," but also "communicate."
Some of the deceased leave with unrest, with attachments and regrets. I can help them finish what they wanted to say and fulfill their wishes, then see them off properly. Some people who are still alive feel blocked in their hearts, confused, lost, or at a dead end. I can also help show them the way and light a path.
Master said:
"This is my skill, but more importantly, it's my responsibility—if you have the ability, you should help others more."
The Two Most Important Lessons I Learned
Life in the monastery is simple, but solid.
Woke up at four every day for morning practice, worked during the day, and chanted scriptures at night. Ate vegetables and tofu, wore coarse cloth clothes. Back then, I did envy the kids outside, with their new clothes and snacks to eat, but gradually I stopped feeling jealous.
Because in the temple, I learned two things more precious than anything else.
One is awe.
The other is compassion.
Awe for heaven and earth, awe for cause and effect, awe for every life.
Compassion for all beings, compassion for suffering, compassion for everyone who has it tough.
Some people wish for wealth, some for children, some for health, and some for peace. On the surface, they're asking for different things, but if you dig deeper, it's all the same—they're looking for hope, for peace of mind.
Once, an elder sister knelt in front of the Buddha and cried for a long time. I went over and handed her a cup of water, and she told me that her husband’s business had failed, the family owed a lot of money, the kids were still young, and she really felt like she couldn't hold on anymore.
I sat with her for a while and talked to her a lot. I forgot exactly what we talked about; I just remember that when she left, there was a light in her eyes.
That day I suddenly realized something:
In life, the scariest thing isn't being poor or suffering, it's not being able to see any hope.
And I, maybe I can be the one who lights the way for others.
How I Found Jewelry
It's kind of funny—a kid who grew up in a temple ended up working in jewelry.
A lot of people ask me:
"You're a practitioner, how can you like jewelry, such a 'common' thing?"
I always tell them:
Jewelry isn't tacky, it's people's tastes that are.
Think about it. A stone buried underground for tens of millions of years, absorbing the essence of the world and the sun and moon, and then someone digs it up and polishes it into a piece of jewelry to wear—it’s already a pretty powerful thing on its own.
All of my jewelry is designed based on my own inspiration. Each piece has its own meaning. I make jewelry not to sell it at a high price, not to show off wealth.
I want to share those energetic, spirited treasures with the people who need them.
Some people are unlucky, I help them find something that can bring them good luck.
Some people are not healthy, I help them find something that can improve their health.
Some people are troubled, I help them find something that can calm their mind.
Every piece of jewelry has its own destiny and someone it's waiting for.
What I can do is act as a "matchmaker," getting the right jewelry into the hands of the right people.
My intention is really simple, and after saying all this, you might think that I'm a bit mystical.
Actually, there really isn't.
I'm just an ordinary person, a child who grew up in a temple, someone who wants to do more good deeds. I have some abilities that others don't, but I never see them as some kind of "superpower"—it's just that heaven gave me this bowl of rice to eat, and if I got this bowl, I should help people more.
What I Hope to Do
So if you ask me, what do I do?
I would say:
• I'm someone who can help answer your questions and clear up your doubts—if something's bothering you, you can't figure it out, or you're stuck, you can come talk to me.
• I'm someone who can help you with blessings and changing your luck—if your fortune's bad or things aren't going your way, you can come to me and we'll think of a way.
• I'm someone who can help you find the right jewelry—if you're looking for a piece of jewelry with energy to keep you company, I've got it.
But when it comes down to it, what I want most is to be the person who gives you hope, confidence, and strength.
Life's path isn't easy. Everyone has moments of confusion, everyone hits lows, everyone feels like they can't go on.
It's okay.
If you want, I can walk with you for a while.
Light a lamp for you, point you in a direction, give you a piece of warm jewelry.
Then tell you:
Don't be afraid.
It will be okay.
Everything will be okay.
May my light illuminate your path.
Follow me, and let's live our days the way we want together.
